Throwback Part 1: A School Project

Was scrolling through our Instagram and ended up going on a trip down the memory lane. I was curious to see what was the first post we posted (when Instagram was first introduced!) and the markets we used to participate in when large scale events were still permitted.

This was our first post: 😂

I created 3125's Instagram after our very first showcase in school, POP02, which is an annual fashion showcase for the Diploma in Fashion students.

This was our debut collection 😂 Every student was given a theme and I think it was "carnival" and we had to consider Spring/ Summer 2014 trends in our products. Students were given free will to create their own brand, be it apparel, shoes, accessories — anything was possible — and we get to showcase in the pop-up in school!

It was so fun but painful at first. I had a creative block while doing this project and it was only until the last two weeks before project submission that I actually had something to show my lecturers. It was this creative block that made me seek God and asked for an inspiration. The inspiration brought me back to my many passions that I put aside — one of them was social entrepreneurship.

"I wanted to create not just another fashion brand. I hope that through the brand we can do good and share the good with those who need it."

I was very clear on this intent and that was how the name "THREEONETWOFIVE" came about. Although initially we did not really had a charity to partner with while it was a school project, it was many years later and through connections of others that we got to share our resources with the community.

Our style — be it our products and photography — has definitely changed over the years. Mainly because we hope to serve a large group of audience, we have stockists to answer to whenever they give us feedbacks on our products and when we receive your feedbacks through DMs too!

But what stood the same was the idea of individuality, that every one of us is unique and I could only find natural gemstones as the fitting material to convey this idea. You can never force or replicate the gemstone in another same shade.

You will find out more about our first collection (out of school) in the upcoming post!
